The Pridelands had just been blessed with not only the merging of the Outsiders, but on the birth of two new cubs to the pride. The cubs belonged to Kiara and Kovu; the crown prince and princess. Both male, the two cubs looked just like their father and grandfather with tufts of fur on their head. The golden cub, Upendo, was the first born while the russet cub, Tuzo, was second.

Months passed and the death of the king Simba brought great sorrow upon the Pridelands especially upon the young cubs. As their father took his place as king and their mother as queen, the cubs went from cubs to royalty in an instant. With Upendo being first born, he was next in line to rule the Pridelands, much to his brother's displeasure.

But many of the younger lionesses and cubs did not favor for Upendo to be king due to his carefree and irresponsible nature; usually getting the two cubs in trouble on his expense. As the cubs reached adolescence, their displeasure of Upendo grew. Kiara saw this and used this to send a fair warning to Kovu for equal care of his cubs. The pride didn't need another 'Nuka' situation on hand.

As Kovu aged and his sons grew to be adults, a civil war broke out, splitting the pride into three. Those who stayed loyal to Kovu and the royal family were allowed to stay in the Pridelands. But those who layed the final assassination attempt of Upendo were exiled to the Outlands. There was then one splinter group who consisted of Tuzo and his 'followers' who left on their own accord and found themselves at the oaisis that his grandfather found shelter at. There, the pride flurioshed and became known as the Kiburi pride; the pride of the jungle.

The Pridelanders and Kiburi were at peace due to the king and prince of the respecitive prides being brothers. But the Outsiders grew in hate and sought revenge upon Kovu and Upendo.

Not much was heard from the three prides for many years and everything was said to be kept at peace. That was until a rouge lion kidnapped the last member of Mufasa's royal bloodline and slaughtered the rest regardless of pride. It is unknown where the rouge took the small cub or wheter the cub is still alive. All that is certian is the rouge is dead, and the true king or queen of the Pridelands has yet to return.
